Intermediate District 287 was created by thirteen area districts to provide educational services and programs that complement and support their own programs. The mission of Intermediate District 287 is to creatively meet the diverse and changing needs of learners through cooperatively delivered, high-quality, cost-effective services. These services include Administration, Special Education, and Teaching and Learning. Member districts: Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Orono, Osseo, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, and Westonka. District 287 offers the services of an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) Specialist, providing individualized educational support for students who have been diagnosed by a clinical audiologist with APD, or students referred by educational teams who require screening, assessment, consultation, or in-servicing relative to APD issues.

Dr. Billiet graduated with a Doctor of Audiology degree from The University of South Dakota. Dr. Billiet is a licensed audiologist in the state of Minnesota and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). She is a member of the Minnesota Academy of Audiology, the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association, and the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Billiet’s primary areas of interest include diagnosis and management of hearing loss in adults and children, hearing aid assessment and fitting, and central auditory processing disorders.

HealthPartners has developed an Auditory Processing Disorder assessment protocol, using a modified “minimal test battery” approach (Jerger and Musiek 2000), within a team model––incorporating speech/language pathology, educational psychology, pediatric neurology and neuro-otology as needed, in addition to an audiology component.
